Biography

Dr. Duc Pham (Phạm Anh Đức) is an incoming Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Cincinnati (UC). He received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2017, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees with School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and School of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering, Chung-Ang University (CAU), Seoul, South Korea, in 2020 and 2024, respectively. Before joining UC, he was a postdoctoral research fellow with University of Illinois Chicago from 2024 to 2026.

Dr. Pham's research develops secure and reconfigurable electromagnetic hardware for next-generation wireless cyber-physical systems. He focuses on embedding intrinsic electromagnetic entropy into reconfigurable RF platforms to create distinct and unclonable RF fingerprints for physical-layer authentication and hardware-level security. His broader expertise covers high-performance and reconfigurable antennas, metamaterials, and reconfigurable-intelligent-surfaces (RISs) in both millimeter-wave and microwave spectrums. He has authored journal and conference publications in venues including IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, and IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement. He was a finalist for the Young Scientist Award at 2025 ICEAA/IEEE-APWC and currently serves as a Chair Officer of the IEEE Chicago APS/MTT-S Joint Chapter (AP03/MTT17).
